Weddings and events
The weekend, not just the day.
Say your vows between the ponds, dance on the lawn, and walk home to bed. The whole property is yours for the weekend.
A typical weekend
Friday to Monday.
- Friday
Arrive and set up
Check in, walk the greenbelt with your planner and let vendors set up. Families settle into the three houses.
- Saturday
The wedding
Ceremony on the greenbelt, reception on the lawn. Music and bar service wrap at 10 pm, and the night carries on inside the houses.
- Sunday
Brunch and cleanup
Every event stay includes the night after the wedding, so nobody packs up the décor on checkout morning.
- Monday
Check out
Head home, or drive 29 miles up to Glacier National Park first.
Weddings at the Outpost
Real weddings on the property, summer through winter, shared with permission of our couples and their photographers. Tap any photo to open it.
What a wedding weekend costs
Two parts: the venue fee for your event, and lodging for the three houses.
| Season | Dates | Fee |
|---|---|---|
| Summer | Third week of June through September | $5,000 |
| Off-season | October 1 through the second weekend of June | $3,000 |
The venue fee covers use of the whole property for your ceremony and reception, extra trash service, an Outpost representative on site during your event, and administration.
Lodging
Book all three houses: at least 3 nights at the Main House and 2 at Peaceful Meadow Home and the Cozy Cabin, including the night after your event. Nightly rates vary by date.
About $15,000 to $25,000
Recent all-in quotes for a summer wedding weekend, covering all three houses, cleaning, taxes and the venue fee, ran from about $15,000 for three nights to about $25,000 for four.
Rentals
Event chairs, tables, string lights, extension cords, trash cans and a mobile bar with bartending are available at below-market rates. You'll get the list and prices after booking, and you're free to use your own rentals and vendors.
Paperwork and timing
Sign the event contract and pay your balance six months before your date. You'll also need a one-day event insurance policy naming Whitefish Outpost as additional insured. Most couples buy one online for a couple hundred dollars, or we can put you in touch with a local agent.
How events work here
- Guest count
- Up to 36 guests sleep on site, and up to 100 can attend your event, counting those staying.
- Restrooms
- With more than 36 guests, plan on a portable restroom trailer for the day. Our septic system is sized for the houses.
- Hours
- Outdoor music and bar service end at 10 pm. Guests who aren't staying on site leave by midnight. Quiet hours run 10 pm to 9 am.
- Indoor events
- Up to 25 guests for a smaller event inside the Main House.
- Vendors
- List your caterer, DJ, photographer and other vendors on your contract, with a certificate of insurance from each. Private chefs are welcome.
- Parking
- Parking on the property is limited. For larger guest lists, plan carpools or a shuttle from town.
- Camping and RVs
- No tent camping. One RV or trailer fits under the RV pavilion, with power and water, for $100 a night and up to four people.
- On the day
- An Outpost representative is on the property during your event hours.
- Smaller weddings
- Under 36 guests or an elopement? Ask about a reduced venue fee.
